Two For The World

Experience the best of our beautiful planet

Who We Are

Welcome to Two for the World! We’re Danielle (Dan for short) and John: a couple of incurable travellers on a journey together through life and its many landscapes.

An Aussie (Dan) and a Brit (John) who call Sydney, Australia our mostly-home, we’ve spent a good part of the last fifteen years slowly making our way together through all seven continents, more than sixty countries, and an itch-list of experiences that doesn’t seem to get any shorter. When we’re not travelling, we’re busy working and saving for the times when we are.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

Experience seekers, adventurer-lovers, history buffs, foodies…our travel style is ultimately defined by the experiences we seek, whether that be pitching a tent in the mud in Uganda or cruising up the Nile aboard a luxury olde-world dahabiya boat.

We’re avid divers and photography enthusiasts. For Dan, wandering an ancient site, spotting a rare bird or seeking out the local vine tipple are pursuits worth going to extremes for, while for John, it’s epic nature, the local football scene and craft beer. We’re always on the lookout for the quirky, weird and wonderful.

This blog is our window on the world: a collection of stories, tips, galleries and adventures from our travels past and journeys present.

It’s great having you along for the ride!

  1. Strange people, they love green beer and don’t mind to travel by bus. Both Horrible thoughts, but what a very very nice couple!

    • John

Thanks very much Jan. We have to say that while we can be partial to the occasional green beer, it does tend to be a St Patrick’s day phenomena that we save for drinking with our special Dutch friends 🙂 As for the buses, well, we’d love to travel CarChallenge style, but alas, our meagre travel budget doesn’t stretch that far. Of course, the offer of co-pilot duties will stand in perpetuity.

  2. DSauce

I want to feature in more of your adventures! Pick me up and let’s travel again soon?

  3. Charlie Rutherford

Really loving the read guys. It certainly makes me want to pack up everything and go on an adventure! Keep them posts coming so I don’t get too caught up in the ebb and flow of everyday working life in the City!

    • John

Glad you like it Charlie, time to start planning another trip perhaps?

  4. Shemaine Harrigan

Awesome site. Love the quote about Mark Twain. The temptation to give up work and sail away from the safe harbour is hard to resist!

    • Dan

Thanks Shemaine! It’s definitely a temptation we find impossible to resist!
